How To Unscrew Bathroom Sink Drain

If your bathroom sink is draining slowly or not at all, it may be time to unscrew the drain and clean it out. This is a relatively simple task that can be completed in a few minutes with the right tools.

Here are the steps on how to unscrew bathroom sink drain:

1. Gather your tools. You will need a pair of pliers, a bucket or bowl, and a rag.

2. Turn off the water supply to the sink. This is usually done by turning the handles on the water supply valves located under the sink.

3. Place the bucket or bowl under the sink to catch any water that may leak out.

4. Use the pliers to loosen the drain stopper. The drain stopper is usually located in the center of the drain opening. Turn the drain stopper counterclockwise to loosen it.

5. Once the drain stopper is loose, remove it from the drain opening.

6. Use the pliers to loosen the drain body. The drain body is the part of the drain that is connected to the sink. Turn the drain body counterclockwise to loosen it.

7. Once the drain body is loose, remove it from the sink.

8. Clean the drain body and the drain stopper. Use a rag and some soapy water to clean the drain body and the drain stopper. Rinse the drain body and the drain stopper thoroughly with water.

9. Reassemble the drain. Start by placing the drain body back into the sink. Then, place the drain stopper back into the drain body. Finally, tighten the drain stopper and the drain body.

10. Turn on the water supply to the sink and check for leaks. If there are no leaks, then you have successfully unscrewed the bathroom sink drain.
