Loosen the nut that holds the stopper in place. The nut is usually located on the underside of the sink. Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the nut, but don't remove it completely.
Remove the old stopper. Once the nut is loose, you can remove the old stopper by pulling it straight up. If the stopper is stuck, you can use the pliers to gently pry it loose.
Apply plumber's putty to the new stopper. Plumber's putty is a sticky substance that helps to seal the stopper and prevent leaks. Apply a small amount of plumber's putty to the bottom of the new stopper.
