Delta Bathroom Faucet Handle Replacement

Replacing the handle on a Delta bathroom faucet is a simple and straightforward task that can be completed in a matter of minutes. With a few simple tools and a little bit of patience, you can save yourself the cost of calling a plumber.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to replace the handle on a Delta bathroom faucet:

Materials Needed:

  • New Delta bathroom faucet handle
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Locking pliers (optional)

Step 1: Turn off the water supply

The first step is to turn off the water supply to your bathroom faucet. This will prevent any water from leaking out while you are working on the faucet.

To turn off the water supply, locate the two shut-off valves under your bathroom sink. These valves will usually be located on the hot and cold water supply lines.

Once you have located the shut-off valves, turn them clockwise to turn off the water supply.

Step 2: Remove the old handle

Once the water supply is turned off, you can remove the old handle.

To remove the old handle, first remove the cap on the top of the handle. This cap will usually be held in place by a small screw.

Once the cap is removed, you will see a small screw that holds the handle in place. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen this screw.

Once the screw is loosened, you can pull the handle straight off of the faucet body.

Step 3: Install the new handle

To install the new handle, simply reverse the steps you took to remove the old handle.

First, place the new handle on the faucet body and align it with the screw hole.

Next, insert the screw and tighten it using a Phillips head screwdriver.

Finally, replace the cap on the top of the handle.

Step 4: Turn on the water supply

Once the new handle is installed, turn on the water supply and check for leaks.

If there are any leaks, tighten the screw on the handle until the leak stops.

Tips:

  • If the screw that holds the handle in place is difficult to loosen, you can use locking pliers to loosen it.
  • Be careful not to overtighten the screw that holds the handle in place.
  • If you are replacing a handle on a Delta bathroom faucet that has a temperature control, make sure to align the new handle correctly with the temperature control.
