Extend Bathroom Sink Drain Pipe

Steps:

3. Connect the new drain pipe to the existing drain - Attach a slip joint nut to one end of the new drain pipe, hand-tighten the nut onto the existing drain pipe, slide on another slip joint nut over the other end, and hand-tighten the nut onto the new drain pipe.

4. Tighten the slip joint nuts - Use a wrench to tighten the slip joint nuts, but do not overtighten them.

5. Apply plumber's putty - Roll out a rope of plumber's putty and apply it around the base of the new drain pipe where it connects to the sink. This will help to create a watertight seal.

6. Tighten the drain flange - Place the drain flange over the putty and tighten the screws to secure it in place. Be sure not to overtighten the screws or you may crack the drain flange.

7. Test the drain - Turn on the water and check for any leaks. If there are no leaks, you have successfully extended the bathroom sink drain pipe.
